CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 160 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.

CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings. They complete general administrative as well as operational tasks to support students with learning under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by State/Territory legislation.
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia.
CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. At this level, workers may be involved in facilitation of learning for a range of instructional groupings, including for those students in need of additional support. Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by State/Territory legislation.
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia.
CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.

8. How is work placement organised?
This is beneficial to students as they may apply at local childcare facilities in their area (reduces travel and transport), or even at their current work place (if they work in the industry and this place of work is approved by Australian College’s internal screening process).

9. Do I need a first aid certificate?
The type of First Aid course required will depend on which Australia College course you’re enrolled in.

Australian College does not provide First Aid courses. First Aid is to be completed externally with a First Aid provider. We can recommend St Johns, Red Cross, H&A, Australia wide.
