CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 160 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.

** please note, this course is a pre-requisite / entry requirement into the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care course **

CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings. They complete general administrative as well as operational tasks to support students with learning under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by State/Territory legislation.

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia.

CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. At this level, workers may be involved in facilitation of learning for a range of instructional groupings, including for those students in need of additional support. Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by State/Territory legislation.

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 100 hours of work in a classroom environment catering to primary or secondary school students, within at least one school in Australia.

CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.

Courses cannot be placed on hold, paused or deferred, however we do offer lengthy course durations so you can take small breaks here and there. We also offer extensions if necessary.

There are practical components embedded within the online units.

A practical task may be in the form of a video upload, case study, role play, observations, third party reports, the completion of documents and templates, etc

Students are given the flexibility of applying for work placement at a registered childcare centre of their choice (subject to approval by Australian College’s internal screening process).

This is beneficial to students as they may apply at local childcare facilities in their area (reduces travel and transport), or even at their current work place (if they work in the industry and this place of work is approved by Australian College’s internal screening process).

You will be required to complete First Aid, to achieve a First Aid certificate.
The type of First Aid course required will depend on which Australia College course you’re enrolled in.
Please refer to the course outline, course units, on our website.

Australian College does not provide First Aid courses. First Aid is to be completed externally with a First Aid provider. We can recommend St Johns, Red Cross, H&A, Australia wide.
